An off the charts web-based media spat has broken out between the top of Russia's space office and a previous NASA space traveler in the midst of dangers over the fate of the International Space Station (ISS), a US-Russian endeavor, after Russia's intrusion of Ukraine.

Scott Kelly, who spent a year in space on board the station, tweeted a screengrab of an erased tweet by Russian space supervisor Dmitry Rogozin that considered Mr Kelly a "imbecile" and took steps to pull out of the ISS.

Mr Rogozin's lofty reaction came after Mr Kelly censured Russia's attack of Ukraine and ridiculed Russia's undeniably disconnected position.

Accordingly, Mr Kelly considered Mr Rogozin a "youngster".

"Get off, you idiot!" Mr Rogozin said in the since erased Tweet. "In any case, the passing of the International Space Station will be on your inner voice."
